FAQs: general
-
We can’t promise any specific behaviour outcomes for your dog. Each dog and family is unique and training success relies heavily on a number of factors, including your ability and commitment to work with your dog between our sessions; your dog’s genetics, environment, and ability to learn; and consistent training practice, to name a few.
That said, working with us increases the likelihood of reaching your behaviour goals, and we have a lineage of success to back that up.
-
Here’s what we can promise:
1) We will only employ and teach current, ethical, and scientifically sound training techniques.
2) Our training methods will be fear-free, pain-free, and force-free.
3) We will communicate with clarity and honesty and make every reasonable effort to adapt our training to your learning style.
4) We will support and guide you on your training journey for as long as you’re training with us.
-
How quickly a dog learns new skills relies on a lot of factors, including your dog’s ability to learn, their genetics, your ability to practice new skills with them, whether you have us train them or do the training yourself, whether their environment consistently supports their learning, and how much maintenance training you’re able to do, to name a few. With so many factors in play, we cant give exact training estimates or dates.
-
We love when everyone who participates in training your dog is present at our sessions, but we also understand this isn’t always possible or age-appropriate. For those who are unable to make it in-person, you will receive a full session summary and write-up detailing what we covered and how to practice at home.
-
If you have questions after your session about what you’ve learned, you can refer to your written session summary. However, if the write-up doesn’t answer your question, you can reach out to us via email at justus@lineageoflovedogtraining.com or text (206)759-2714, and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

FAQs: sessions & packages
-
Our base rate is $150 / hour. After we meet for your Intake and Assessment session, we design a package to meet your training goals. We offer discounts for our packages.
-
For most behaviour issues, a single session of dog training is not sufficient to address problem behaviours. Our comprehensive training looks at a number of factors beyond teaching your dog a few tricks (though they’ll get those, too).
We are commited to making a meaningful, positive difference in your family’s life and know behaviour change is not a quick fix.
-
During our first session, we complete a full intake and assessment, including an evaluation of your dog. We then create a custom package to address your concerns.
We tailor each package to the individual dog and family and recommend a length most appropriate for your dog’s needs, usually between three to ten weeks, with one or more sessions per week. We aim for the sessions to be as efficient, focused, and helpful as possible to make the most of your training time.
-
Throughout training with us, we’ll be evaluating your pup’s progress and will let you know if your dog needs more or less time working through particular skills.

Intake and Assessment
If you need to reschedule or cancel your Initial Intake and Assessment appointment, you may do so without penalty up to 48 hours prior to the appointment. If less than 48 hours until the appointment time, we apply 15% cancellation fee, along with any credit card transaction fees.
Packages
Behaviour modification programs depend largely on the pet parent’s commitment to the training and management, and once a program begins, success depends on its continuation.
For this reason, we do not offer refunds once a program has started except in the following situations: your pup develops a medical condition that precludes the ability to work with them, you’ve decided to rehome your dog, or behavioural euthanasia.
Any refunds omit credit card processing fees for the original transaction.
-
Packages expire one year after purchase date. If for any reason there’s a lapse in your sessions, we will reach out to you before your package expires to schedule your remaining sessions. You forfeit any sessions remaining beyond the expiration date.
-
We are happy to offer payment plans. Please reach out to us at justus@lineageoflovedogtraining.com if you’d like to do a payment plan. You will pay more in credit card processing fees, but we do not charge additional fees on our end to utilize payment plans.
